Salaries of contract lecturers hiked, regularization pending due to court stay: Kadiam

Stating that the State government enhanced salaries of contract lecturers in huge way, the Deputy Chief Minister Kadium Srihari has said that the government given orders in regard to regularisation of contract lecturers but some were approached the Court intentionally and the Court made it clear that regularisation of contract lecturers was not possible.

Giving reply to the questions raised by the TRS MLAs M Sudheer Reddy and V Srinivas Goud here on Wednesday in the Assembly during Question Hour, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the government was still thinking on it and as part of it the government enhanced salaries of contract lecturers following the directions of the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The government increased the salaries of Junior College contract lecturers from Rs.18,000 to Rs.37,000 and Degree College contract lecturers from Rs.20,000 to Rs.40,000.

The Deputy Chief Minister also said that the government enhanced the salaries of contract lectures of Polytechnic colleges and the contract workers of various departments. The Minister said that 5011 contract lecturers were benefited with the enhancement of salaries. (NSS
