NEW DELHI: Tennis Star Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik has named their little boy Izhaan Mirza Malik. The baby’s name Izhaan means submission or obedience (in God) in Arabic.
Earlier on October 30, Shoaib made the announcement of the birth of their first child on micro-blogging site Twitter. The tweet reads, “Excited to announce: Its a boy, and my girl is doing great and keeping strong as usual #Alhumdulilah. Thank you for the wishes and Duas, we are humbled #BabyMirzaMalik .”
Sania’s sister also took to Instagram to announce the good news.
According to reports, the the little boy doing good and weighs 3.5 kg.
Sania married Shoaib in a traditional Hyderabadi Muslim wedding ceremony on April 12, 2010.
Sania at the ‘Goa Fest 2018’ earlier this year had said that their child would keep surnames of both of them.
“Today I will tell you a secret. My husband and I have spoken about it and we have decided that whenever we have a child, the child will have Mirza-Malik as a surname and not just Malik. So that’s where we stand as a family including my husband. He actually wants a daughter,” Sania had said.
