Saudi Arabia arrests more than 3 lakh people for violations

RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia arrests a total of 361,370 people for violating labour and immigration laws.

According to the news reported in Arab News, the campaign is being conducted by the police in cooperation with the Ministries of Interior, labor and social development and commerce and investment, and also the department of immigration, which functions under the Ministry of Interior.

The Public security authority said that it would continue its operations and according to its latest report nearly 78,135 violators had been deported.

The Kingdom released a statement according to which 4,758 were attempting to cross the border and they were arrested. Among the persons arrested, 76 percent of them were Yemeni nationals, 22 percent were Ethiopians and the rest 2 percent were from unknown countries.

To obtain the travel documents, the authorities have already sent 58,076 persons to their respective embassies.
