Saudi Arabia screens first public cinema

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has opened the second four-screen multiplex just two weeks after the first public cinema screening in Saudi Arabia for 35 years. The new entertainment complex is opened up in Riyadh Park, by VOX Cinemas which plans to launch 600 screens across Saudi Arabia.

VOX Cinemas was launched by Minister of Culture and Information Awwad Al Awwad and Majid Al Futtaim Chief Executive Officer Alain Bejjani. He declared the opening of cinema as another historic moment in the transformation of the Saudi economy under the Vision 2030 plan spearheaded by Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.

The VOX Cinemas screens aimed at creating 3,000 direct employment opportunities.
