Saudi King inaugurates Kingdom’s first high-speed train

A handout picture provided by the Saudi Royal Palace on September 25, 2018, shows Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz (R) about to enter a train at Jeddah Central Station, during the inauguration of a new high-speed railway linking Mecca and Medina, Islam’s holiest cities. The Haramain High Speed Rail system, described by local officials as the biggest transportation project in the region, will transport Muslim pilgrims and regular travellers along a distance of 450 kilometres (280 miles) between the two holy cities, via the Red Sea port of Jeddah, in two hours.[source_without_link]
