Saudi man held with bullet at IGI

NEW DLEHI: A Saudi Arabian national was detained at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Thursday, when security personnel detected a bullet in his luggage.

According to reports, A S Wunaymir T on Wednesday evening was going through the security checks when a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan detected a “bullet-like object” in his baggage, the official said.

The baggage was opened in Wunaymir’s presence and live bullet round was recovered from it. The man was asked to produce any valid document for the ammunition, which he failed to show and therefore was handed over to the police.

He was scheduled to take a flight to Riyadh via Muscat.

Police registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.
