SC verdict on Ayodhya issue: experts’ opinion

New Delhi: Several legal experts have expressed their opinions on the yesterday’s Supreme Court verdict on Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case. Experts say the Supreme Court’s verdict will not have any effect on article 25 of the constitution which ensures religious freedom to all. Experts also said the court didn’t comment on whether Namaz is an integral part of religion, but it said praying in Masjid is not the essential part of religion.

After looking at the opinions of the legal experts one thing has become clear that the next verdict of the court will be only on the title suit.

Mufti Nizamuddin of Darul Iftah of Jamia Ashrafia said that it is essential to offer namaz in masjid as several ahadeeth point out towards its necessity.

On September 27, the Supreme Court declined to set up a larger bench to relook its 1994 Ram temple-Babri Masjid case verdict, which held that a mosque is not an essential part of the practice of Islam.
