Scott Derrickson to return for ‘Doctor Strange’ sequel

Washington D.C. [USA], Dec 12 (ANI): American director Scott Derrickson is all set to direct Disney-Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’ sequel, once again.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the makers plan to prepare a script of the project by 2019 and commence the production by spring 2020. The movie would be casting its spell on audiences in May 2021.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Wong will return as Stephen Strange, the good doctor turned master of the mystic arts, and his right-hand man, respectively. Rachel McAdams, who played Stephen Strange’s love interest, is likely to return as well.

‘Doctor Strange,’ first appeared in the Marvel comic ‘Strange Tales #110’ in 1963, was centered on Cumberbatch’s surgeon character, who decides to practice mystic arts after his left hand was injured during a car accident. Instead, he began learning about the astral plane, the hidden world of magic, and other dimensions.

The 2016 flick also starred Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benjamin Bratt, Scott Adkins, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton. [source_without_link]ANI[/source_without_link]
