Hyderabad: The second phase of election campaigning in local bodies polls came to an end in Telangana State. The ruling and Opposition parties vied for campaigning in the villages and towns going for second phase of polls for ZPTCs and MPTCs.
The State Election Commission has asked the political parties to wind up the campaigning as per poll code. According to the information, results of one ZPTC and 63 MPTCs have been declared unanimously. The poll body made polling arrangements for 179 ZPTC and 1850 MPTCs on May 10.
The polling for these seats will be held in all districts except in Hyderabad, Medchal and Malkajgiri. The officials have imposed section 144 near polling stations for smooth polls. The local bodies are going for polls through ballot papers. The officials said that they use white ballot papers for MPTC and pink papers for ZPTC posts during the polls. The polls will be held from 7 am to 5 pm in normal districts and till 4 pm in naxal infested districts.
