Security guard opens fire inside a Delhi bank

New Delhi: A security guard of a nationalised bank in Delhi’s Defence Colony area allegedly opened fire inside the premises on Tuesday, injuring a customer.

The guard has been apprehended by the police also recovered the weapon used during the attack. The accused, identified as Rudra Pal Singh, is a resident of Delhi.

A case under Sections 336 and 337 of the Indian Penal Code and Section of 30 Arms Act has been registered at the Defence Colony Police Station, and the probe is underway.

Speaking about the case, Deputy Commissioner of Police Romil Baniya said, “It seems like a case of accidental firing.”

The injured customer, identified as Rajender Singh has been taken to a hospital for treatment.
