Out of 150 Municipal Divisions of GHMC there are 30 to 40 divisions in which the votes of Seema Andhra settlers are a deciding factor. Including the ruling TRS, all the political parties have started campaign to lure these voters. The candidates are visiting the houses personally, since their votes are deciding factor.
It may be noted that in 45 to 50 divisions, MIM predominates where the concentration of Muslim is more. In areas where Muslims are not in large numbers, the majority of the voters consist of Seema Andhra settlers. In these areas, TDP holds its influence. In the General Elections of 2014, TDP in coalition with BJP had polled large number of votes in favour of its candidates in many Assembly constituencies. There seems to be not much influence of TRS in these areas but TRS is hopeful that the things have changed and now Seema Andhra settlers would vote in favour of TRS.
