Ashu Maharaj, Self-styled godman whose earlier name was Asif Khan, was arrested for allegedly raping a woman and her minor daughter at his ashram in Delhi. His son Samar Khan was also arrested by the Crime Branch for raping the woman. Both father and son duo were questioned for hours in connection with the case.
The woman had claimed that between 2008 and 2013 she was raped repeatedly by the self-styled godman, his friends and his son, said the victim in her complaint to the police. She further said that she was asked to bring her minor daughter along with her and when she brought her he even raped her daughter.
Following her complaint, a case was registered against the Self-styled godman Ashu Maharaj in the Hauz Khas Police Station. Now the case was transferred to the Crime Branch after an initial investigation.
