Serious action on industries, hospitals for pollution: Indrakaran

Hyderabad: Forest, environment and housing minister A Indrakaran Reddy today directed officials to take criminal action against the industries and hospitals causing pollution. At a review meeting with officials here, the minister said that plastic use has to be halted in temples and those causing pollution have to be dealt with seriously. He appealed to people have to take responsibility to avoid plastic use.

Indrakaran asked to tow the line of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to protect environment by planting saplings and take measures to keep intact water table. Asking to have a close watch on the industries causing pollution he said to check the old vehicles from adding to related woes. Water is lifeline for the people and environmental problem should not come in the way of development he said. Citing the pollution problem at its zenith in Delhi and other metros, he said that similar problem has not to be found by taking necessary measures to expand greenery and protect lakes. Take up green drive and increase waters in lakes and ponds for a balance of environment as said by the chief minister he said.

The minister instructed agriculture scientists to conduct research through Barc technology and provide food grains at affordable prices to people and produce quality vegetables process. He also said that the officials should speed up the process to give all permissions to the projects of the government. Supply waters to botanical gardens and grow greenery to protect environment.
