Hyderabad: The mosquito menace an ongoing problem in Karwan has doubled the pain of residents. The water they had been receiving is excessively contaminated in Hakeempet and in nearby areas.
It seems that the GHMC and HMWSSB have turned a deaf ear to the complaints made by the residents about the contaminated water in their respective areas. Various areas under Karwan constituency like Hakeempet, Jinsi Chowraha, Hakeempet Kunta, Jiyaguda slaughterhouse, Huda Park, Shatam tank, Nadeem Colony, and Qazi Gally are receiving contaminated water from the past few months.

Residents have taken the matter to Congress leader and Contested MLA from Karwan Constituency, Mr. Osman Bin Mohammed Al Hajri. Later Hajri lodged an official complaint to the Minister for MA & UD, GHMC Commissioner, MD of HMWSSB on their social networking sites to resolve the issue or else soon he is going to stage a massive protest along with the residents of Hakeempet.”
Md Salam, President of Fatima Nagar Colony Welfare Society alleged that the authorities are giving false statistics about the mosquito menace, mixing of sewage into drinking water is also a matter of concern because from the past few months the entire Karwan is facing difficulties for drinking water.”
Mohammed Samad a resident says, “We have been supplied mixed drinking water with sewage which is causing many diseases to the residents, children are regularly falling sick. The water board is supplying water for 3-4 hours every alternate day, but the water is fully contaminated. Water can’t even be used for external purposes. Samad said.”
