Shabbir demands CM, Speaker to quit honorably

Leader of the Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir today demanded that both CM KCR and Speaker Madhusudhanachari resign if they have respect for political values after the High court quashed disqualification of two Congress MLAs — Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Santhos Kumar.

Speaking to the media here today, Shabbir Ali said the High Court held that the Assembly act of suspending all the Congress MLAs and disqualifying two Congress MLAs in the Assembly as illegal and ultra virus of the Constitution and also against business rules of the TS legislature.

Describing the court verdict as a slap in the face of the TRS Government, the LOP said both KCR and Speaker put their personal vendetta above democratic norms and business rules of the House. The court has exposed the “true color” of the Speaker for not upholding the Constitution and yielding to the government pressure, he said, adding that the court decision was a shot in the arm pf the Congress party. “Now both Congress MLAs could continue their crusade against the TRS and despotic rule of KCR”.
