Shabbir wants NRI Bill in ensuring Assembly session

Congress MLC and Leader of the Opposition in Council Mohd Ali Shabbir today demanded that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his son MA&UD Minister KTR should stop making “empty” statements on NRI welfare and should introduce NRI policy bill in the ensuring Assembly session.

Addressing reporters at the Assembly media point, Shabbir questioned KCR about his promises on comprehensive NRI policy which did not materialise even after three years six months have passed. He said he was receiving phone calls from the NRI belonging to Nizamabad ,karimnager and Siddipet to save them and address their problems to bring them back, he added. The TRS government should arrange Study Tour of  all party MLAs and MLCs along with MEA officials under the chairmenship of State Minister to meet and interact with employees ,labour and officials to address the NRI problems as was done by the congress government earlier, he added 

Shabbir also criticized KTR for his failures  and said he was a minister for receiving awards only. Shabbir said 30,000 labours belonging to Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Medak and Adilabad working in Gulf Countries have become jobless after the Saudi Arabia Bin Laden Construction Company was  shut down by retrenching 77,000 workers laying off nearly.

He also asked the State government to emulate AP which created a Rs.40 crore corpus fund for welfare of NRIs, with Helpline ,  insurance  and Medicare. Demanding that TRS govt should bring out a comprehensive NRI policy and  take steps to  reinstate  the ration cards cancelled  and set up an NRI cell in each district .’There should be a social security scheme for the NRIs working in gulf and a  Rehabilitation Package to  families of Gulf Victims with Rs.20 lakh financial Assistance, Skill trainings by NAC instead of Jaguruthi ( Kavitha ) own organisation , NRI office out side the secretariat for accessible to all  as well ‘ he demanded. During Congress government  when there  a amnesty , we were  brought 25000 people and arranged free tickets to 1256 candidates, he said. He said that even the  present development of  twin cities such as Metro Rail, Krishna water, ORR and PVNR  Express way  were all brain child of the Congress  government which gave priority and funded to the tune  Rs.2 lack crores. KTR announce recently that he want to develop Hyderabad with one lakh crore instead of that let him provide Rs.1000 cr which was earmarked  in the  2017-18 Budget  and bring back the amount given to RTC for  all round city development,  he questioned.
