Shahid’s ‘Kabir Singh’ in troubled waters, Doctor files complaint to stop screening

Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Kabir Singh’ is in troubled waters with many controversies pouring in.

The movie released on Friday is in headlines for many reasons but the movie makers have indeed witnessed a minor setback due to these controversies.

The story revolves around an alcoholic doctor who falls hard for a medical student. Reports suggest this could be Shahid’s first Rs 100 crore movie is also a Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy remake co-starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey.

Now a Mumbai-based doctor has filed a complaint against the makers of the film for putting doctors in a bad light.

Shahid plays the role of a heartbroken alcoholic doctor who gets addicted to drugs to forget his pain. His character portrays ‘Kabir’ as a violent aggressive man who wants to be reunited with the love of his life, Preeti.

Doctors now feel, the story puts doctors in a bad light. The complaint has written to the central Health Minister, Information and Broadcasting Ministry, State Health Ministry, and the Censor Board of Film Certification to stop the screening of this film Kabir Singh.

The complainant doctor said the film has distorted the image of a doctor and that it puts the doctors in a negative light and shown in a negative manner in the film.
