Shankar says TRS can’t win in Shadnagar in 2019

Stating that the Congress strength will be known whenever elections are held, former minister Dr P Shanker Rao said it was not proper for ruling party leaders to say that the chapter of the Congress party was over.

Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Tuesday, Dr Shanker Rao said there was no need to explain about Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s rule. Responding to a question, Shanker Rao said the Congress would utilize his services if needed. Making it clear that he will contest from Shadnagar in the next elections, Shankar Rao challenged the TRS to make their candidate win the election if they have so much confidence.

“I am a loyal soldier of the Congress and I am not a betrayer of the party. Every body knows my crusade against corruption”, he said. Reacting on Komatireddy brothers’ issue, Shanker Rao opined that the issue was their personal one and it has nothing to do with the party.

The former minister said the High Court Chief Justice has directed the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam to provide Mahadwara darshan to the handicapped and senior citizens following his letter. (NSS)
