Sheena Bora case: Indrani Mukerjea’s bail plea rejected yet again

Mumbai (Maharashtra): The Mumbai Special Court on Saturday rejected the bail application of Indrani Mukerjea, the former head of INX Media and the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, for the third time.

Last month, Mukerjea had sought bail on medical grounds.

Mukerjea has been lodged at Mumbai’s Byculla jail since her arrest in 2015 for her alleged involvement in her daughter, Sheena Bora’s murder case.

On October 16, Indrani, while defending her case at a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Mumbai, asked if the probe agency would be held responsible in case she dies.

She had made the argument while the court was hearing her third bail application. Earlier, two of her bail applications were rejected by the court.

Stating about her health condition, she had said, “There are complications in my brain, facial paralysis, hypertension to hypotension, double vision and low pressure”.
She had also alleged that on several occasions, medical assistance was delayed, medicines were either forgotten or not made available in jail.

The CBI, in their reply, had objected to her bail application saying that they are also concerned about the well being of the accused as it is the duty of the state. They are not denying the health complications, but some procedural delays happen and one has to follow the rules and regulations, the CBI court had said.
