In India, Youm-e-Ashura, the 10th of Muharram, is observed with reverence and religious solemnity throughout the country on Friday (today). Tazia, Alam and Zuljinah processions are taken out in all cities and towns. Water, juice and milk stalls are set up in contrast to the situation of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions who were denied water by their enemies.
