Shiv Sena will be with the BJP in the next Lok Sabha elections: Amit Shah

Mumbai: BJP president Amit Shah while talking about the Opposition ‘mahagathbandhan’ (grand alliance), called it an illusion and showed confidence that the BJP will retain power after the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

He also stated that he was sure that the Shiv Sena will be with the BJP in the next Lok Sabha elections. Talks are on (with them), he was speaking at the Republic Summit in Mumbai.

He further asserted that “The mahagathbandhan does not exist anywhere. We have fought against all of them in 2014 and defeated them to form the government. They are all regional leaders, they can’t help each other.”

The election results in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh were certainly not favourable for BJP, but it is not right to link them with the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, he added.

He also categorically denied any leadership change and said that the ruling NDA will contest the 2019 elections under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
