Shocking: Teacher hacked to death for saying ‘NO’

Chennai: Marriage refusal killed a 23-year-old Maths teacher who was employed at a private school in Tamil Nadu.

The incident is reported from Cuddalore District which around 200 kms from Chennai and occurred when the victim was alone in her classroom, NDTV reports.

The victim teacher is identified as S Ramya who used to teach Maths to students of Class 5 at Gayathri Matriculation School.

According to police official investigating the case, the victim used to arrive early to school.

“She used to come early to the school as her home is nearby. We understand there was an argument after which he had killed her,” said the official, adding that refusal to marriage could be the possible reason behind the murder.

“The suspect Rajashekar had known the teacher from college days. Six months ago, he had asked her parents to marry their daughter with him, but they had refused. This appears to be the motive behind the attack,” said a senior police officer.

The officer also added that Rajashekhar had messaged his sister that he would commit suicide.

The victim’s body was also sent for post-mortem. Further investigations are on the case.
