“Shotgun” to join congress on Thursday

NEW DELHI: Rebel Bharatiya Janata Party MP Shatrughan Sinha is set to join the Congress party on March 28 after being replaced by senior BJP leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

Sinha, has been associated with BJP for about three decades will join the party on Thursday at 11:30 am, announced Congress MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh on Tuesday.

Sinha, one of the most vitriolic critics of the saffron party was a two-time sitting MP from the Patna Sahib constituency in Bihar was denied a ticket.

He is likely to join the grand old party in presence of party chief Rahul Gandhi and seek re-election on a ticket from Patna Sahib against the BJP candidate Ravi Shankar Prasad in the coming Lok Sabha election.

The Bollywood actor-turned-politician is determned that he will not change his constituency “whatever the situation.”

The BJP is contesting from 17 of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar as part of the National Democratic Alliance.
