Siasat Deeni Contest: Draw held

Hyderabad: In order to inculcate the passion for acquiring Islamic knowledge, Siasat Urdu Daily and a few Hyderabadis staying in Saudi Arabia had announced a Deeni knowledge contest. For this purpose, questions were framed on Quranic verses. The participants were asked to identify these verses and to send their responses through coupons.

A large number of participants sent their responses. Its draw was held by Mr. Meer Sujahat Ali, General Manager of Siasat Urdu Daily and Maulana Syed Zubair Hashmi at Siasat’s Golden Jubilee Hall on 2nd August.

Present on this occasion were Mr. Habeeb Mohammed bin Abdullah Rafi, a computer operator of Siasat Urdu Daily and a large number of Islamic scholars.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Hashmi told that it is the gratitude of Allah (SWT) that it blessed us with the Quran.

The first prize amounting to Rs. 10000 was drawn in favour of Ateequa Shameem of Bandlaguda; the second prize of Rs. 5000 goes to Syed Zahid of Khazipura whereas the third prize of Rs. 3000 was declared for Aijaz Ahmed of Panjatan Colony; fourth prize of Rs. 2000 was declared for Merajunnisa Begum of Srinagar Colony, Madannapet. In addition to these prizes, 80 consolation prizes of Rs. 1000 each were also drawn.

The four winners will be given prizes at the office of Siasat whereas the prizes of the other winners will be sent to their respective addresses. Mr. Rafi recited Quranic verses at the beginning of the function and proposed vote of thanks at the end.
