Abu Dhabi: Bollywood Singer Mika Singh was sent back to Abu Dhabi jail after being produced before court on Friday evening in UAE.
Mika landed in Abu Dhabi jail after being arrested and released on the same night Thursday after sexual harassment charges were levelled against him. He was in Dubai to attend Bollywood award show called Masala Awards and was also seen performing with Hollywood pop singer Akon on stage.
“He was produced in the court Friday evening. And he has been sent back to police custody,” said a source close to the case.
It is however, not clear if he would be released immediately or for how many days he shall remain in jail, IBT reports.
The Dubai police had detained the singer at around 3 am from Bur Dubai Thursday night after a 17-year-old Brazilian model levelled charges against him for sending her lewd pictures online.
The complaint is lodged at the Muraqqabat police station. “Our team is at the police station. We are working on it,” Navdeep Singh Suri, Indian Ambassador to UAE had earlier informed ANI.
