New Delhi: A special aircraft carrying the remains of 38 slain Indians in Iraq who went missing in Mosul in June 2014 will be arriving in Amritsar on Monday.
The slain Indians hailed from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal and from Bihar. All who went to look for prospective jobs in Iraq never returned back until now.
These 39 Indians who went missing back in 2014 after communications with their abruptly stopped have been recently declared dead by the Indian Government after 3 years of their death.
Only remains are now being brought back after DNA testing proved 95 percent match of the missing Indians except one person whose DNA testing had only 75 percent match.
Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh left for Iraq on Sunday to bring back the mortal remains of slayed Indians in Mosul.
The Minister is expected to hand over the remains to their families according to the official sources, Indian Express reported.
