A social activist stabbed to death for recording video

In a terrifying incident, a 25-year-old social activist was stabbed to death by history-sheeter for recording video of the latter creating ruckus on the road.

According to the police, the incident took place at Mailardevpally around 10:45 pm on Thursday.

Sharoon, the prime accused and a history-sheeter along with six others went to the Hillocks at Shastripuram and reached Jawed pan shop and started shouting and injured one tea vendor.

Mushtaq, who is on his way to attend a function stopped on seeing the nuisance and started recording the video.

Sharoon saw Mushtaq recording the video and got angry and stabbed Mushtaq in the chest. When his elder brother Abrar came to save him, he was also stabbed.

Abrar shifted to Osmania General Hospital with the help of locals but, declared as brought dead.

Rajendranagar ACP, Ashok Chakravarthy said, based on the CCTV footage and the eye-witnesses the prime accused Sharoon and his associates were arrested within one and half hour of the incident.

He said they are booked under Sections 147, 148, 302, 307 r/w 149 of IPC.
