Sonu Sood to pay tribute to Bollywood action stars at IFFI

Panaji, (Goa) [India] Nov 20 (ANI): Actor Sonu Sood is all set to pay tribute to the action heroes of Bollywood in the opening ceremony of the 49th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on Tuesday.

Sood will dance to popular songs from movies which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Salman Khan, and Akshay Kumar, to name a few.

The ‘Dabangg’ star, who was seen rehearsing to the songs from Akshay Kumar’s 2012 movie ‘Rowdy Rathore’, said he is looking forward to his performance in the evening. “We had a first take rehearsal in the morning. The stage and whole ambiance are looking very nice and I am looking forward to my performance in the evening,” he told ANI.

Apart from the festival premises, the whole city of Panaji has been decked up with IFFI banners.

Police vehicles and helicopters circulating the city’s roads and airspace are keeping constant vigil ensuring the safety of cinema lovers visiting IFFI.

The 49th edition of the festival will showcase 212 films, including 16 Oscar-nominated films, from over 68 countries. It will commence on November 20 and culminate on November 28.

In this edition, Israel is the country of focus. Ten films will be showcased in collaboration with the Consulate General of Israel in Mumbai. The opening film for this section is ‘The Other Story’ directed by Avi Nesher. A special presentation of Tunisian films will also be showcased.

Also, a special package for Visually Impaired Children will be organised with special screenings with the aid of audio description. The festival will even showcase ‘Sholay’ and ‘Hichki’ under this section. [source_without_link]ANI[/source_without_link]
