SP youth workers burn Amar Singh’s effigy in Mathura

New Delhi: Workers of the Samajwadi Yuvajan Sabha, youth wing of Samajwadi Party, on Monday torched the effigy of the SP General Secretary Amar Singh, blaming him for the current upheaval in the party.

The party workers gathered near the Collectorate and raised slogans against Singh.

“Amar Singh is responsible for differences among the top brass of the party,” said Samajwadi Yuvajan Sabha District chief Sahoon Khan Rawat.

“We will work unitedly for the victory of Samajwadi Party in the forthcoming Assembly elections to ensure repeat of Akhilesh Yadav as Chief Minister,” he added.

Akhilesh Yadav has been at odds with his father Mulayam Singh Yadav and uncle Shivpal Yadav recently.

The feud came out into the open on Monday with a high-voltage drama unfolding in full public view during which Mulayam Singh Yadav sided with his younger brother Shivpal and friend Amar Singh, and reprimanded son Akhilesh Yadav but ruled out his removal as Chief Minister.

Akhilesh, in turn, accused Amar Singh and those close to him of hatching a “conspiracy” against him and his father.
