Former Union Home Minister Susheel Kumar Shinde today said special status to Andhra Pradesh State was mentioned in the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganization Act-2014.
Speaking to the media after having a darshan of Srivaru here on Thursday, Shinde said they have mentioned provision of all needful to Andhra Pradesh State in the Act. He said he failed to understand as to why the BJP-led NDA government remained adamant on giving special status to the residual AP. He also made it clear that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and people’s movement was justified. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed to fulfill the assurances given to that State. He also alleged that opposition was increasing among all sections of people towards Narendra Modi. (NSS)
