Speed up Ruraban works: Jupally tells Officials

Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao today directed officials concerned to speed up Ruraban scheme to provide urban facilities in villages with priority to set up parks and playgrounds in addition to regular works. He directed that tenders for works of parks and playgrounds have to be finalized in week days.

Rao conducted a review meeting on Ruraban program and discussed employment guarantee, transfers of employees and works. The works of employment guarantee scheme should be completed before the end of financial year though we got 2020 deadline, he said. The government will allow transfers except for those employees attending panchayat elections, Krishna Rao said. The government has taken up 349 villages for development by spending Rs 150 crore, the minister said. These works will be taken up in a phased manner, include four in first phase, three in second phase and nine in third phase. He warned of serious action against the officials and staff for lagging behind in completing the given targets. ‘Our aim is to provide 60 per cent workers should get 100 days of work by making use of funds’, the minister said. Krishna Rao instructed officials to take up promotions of mandal extension officers as MPDOs and transfers for the staff and officials.(NSS)
