Srinagar: Relatives of several inmates of Central Jail, Srinagar, on Tuesday staged a protest against prison authorities accusing them of not allowing to meet their imprisoned relatives following the scuffle between prisoners and jail authorities earlier this month.
The relatives of the inmates assembled inside the press-enclave here in Srinagar chanting slogans while carrying placards in their hands.
The protesters alleged that prison authorities are torturing inmates following the April 5, brawl. They also said that they are not sure whether or not their relatives are dead or alive.
