SRK’s Alibaug bungalow attached under Benami Act

Mumbai: Income Tax (IT) Department attached Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow which is located at Alibaug.

According to the report published in TOI, IT Department attached the property after labeling it “benami”. To confirm the attachment, Dept. has also filed the report before an adjudication authority.

It may be mentioned that within 90 days, Bollywood actor has to file the reply. Authorities of IT Dept. can take criminal action after Adjudication Authority confirms the attachment.

According to the details, Deja Vu Farms Pvt Ltd took an unsecured loan of Rs. 8.5 crore from Mr. Khan. This loan was used by Deju Vu for purchasing the property.

Last month, authorities had issued attachment notice to Deja Vu Farms under the Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions Act.

As the land in Thal is agricultural, Ajgaonkar, Director of Déjà vu Farms claimed that he was an agriculturist. The company got the land with a pre-condition that it would be used for farming purpose within 3 years.

It is also reported that in Thal Village, 7/12 land extracts show the bungalow on four plots and the owner of the property is Ajgaonkar

It may be noted that the farmhouse which covers 19,960 sq m has a swimming pool and private helipad.

The notice was issued when Tehsildar Office of Alibaug found a swimming pool on the plot.
