State BJP leaders, cadre rejoice win in two States

In the wake of the BJP winning Assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh and going to form governments, the Telangana State BJP today organised victory celebrations on a grand scale.

A large number of party workers gathered at the State BJP office at Nampally and burst crackers and distributed sweets. State party Chief Dr K Laxman, former Union minister Bandaru Dattatraya, Floor leader in Assembly G Kishan Reddy and Khairatabad MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy showed “V” sign of victory. The party activists raised slogans in support of the BJP and chants of “Modi, Modi” rent the air at the party office.

Speaking to the media later, State party president Laxman said people all over the country supported development slogan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including decisions on demonetization and GST and people of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh voted for the BJP.

Slamming the Congress party for spreading venomous campaign against the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi by AICC president Rahul Gandhi, the people of Gujarat rejected that party and gave their verdict in favour of Narendra Modi. The people have also rejected Congress in Himachal Pradesh after tasting five years of its “misrule”. The people of Gujarat supported the BJP and voted for it for the sixth time, he said, adding that the election results in Gujarat where BJP ruled 22 years, clearly show that the slogan of “Congress-mukt” is going to be realized soon.

Laxman also said now the party’s Central leaders would concentrate on South India, particularly Karnataka and Telangana States. He hoped that the BJP would become an alternative to TRS in Telangana State and would wrest power in 2019 elections as people of the State were disillusioned with the “anti-people and anti-farmer” policies of the State government.

Rejoicing the occasion, party floor leader in the Assembly G Kishan Reddy said the people of Gujarat have rejected caste-politics of the Congress party. The achievement of Rahul Gandhi after his coronation as AICC president was the handing over of Himachal Pradesh to the BJP in a golden platter.

BJP senior leader and former Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya described the win of BJP in Gujarat and Himachal as moral victory for the party. (NSS)
