 Minister for Finance & Planning Etela Rajender today informed the Assembly that the State government’s total debts were Rs 1,35,554.03 crore and the amount of interest burden on the State exchequer in 2016-17 financial year was Rs 8,609.19 crore.
The questions were raised by Congress MLAs Thatiparthi Jeevan Reddy, Challa Vamshichand Reddy and BJP MLAs G Kishan Reddy, Dr K Laxman, Chintala Ramachandra Reddy and NVSS Prabhakar in the Assembly during Question Hour. Etela said the quantum of loans taken by the State government from the Centre and other financial institutions till now was Rs 22,485.06 crore. (NSS)
