The disbursement of Rs 10,000 to the State government employees has begun today.
The State government had decided to pay Rs 10,000 in cash from November salary to every employee in view of demonetization of big notes and acute shortage of new currency notes. The disbursement started through banks from Thursday. The employees, pensioners stood in long queues since morning. They were paid Rs 10,000 each at State Bank of Hyderabad located in the Secretariat. The bank branch manager said they set up three counters for the purpose.
The Andhra Bank was not in a position to disburse Rs 10,000 to each employee because of scarcity of cash. The Bank has been issuing tokens to the employees, who have their accounts in it. (NSS)
