Subramanian Swamy reveals how NDA came to power in 2014, says ‘Elections are won on emotions’

New Delhi: In an interview, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said that elections cannot be won on the basis of economic performance. Swamy said that he wanted to say this to PM Modi.

Citing the example, he said that neither Narasimha Rao nor Vajpayeeji won the election based on economic performance. He further said that elections can be won on emotions.

Replying to the statement, “That is just running after the power”, Swami said, “With power, more work can be done”. Talking on Hindutva, he said that Hindutva is about Hindu Sovereignty and Hindu pride.

Commenting on the politics which was prevailing in the past 70 years, Swami allegedly that strategies were made to divide Hindus based on caste, region, language and varna. He also alleged that till now, votes of minorities, SC, OBC were united to form the majority.

Talking about the formula followed in 2014 election, he said that strategies were made to do the opposite of what was done till then. He said, “We united Hindus” and at the same time, split Muslim woman from the Muslim vote bank through Triple Talaq Bill. Isolate Wahabi Sunni by creating differences between Bohras, Shias and Sunni.
