‘Only a surname is leader in Congress, rest have no value,’ BJP taunts Congress

Vadodara : Taking a jibe at the Congress post the exit of senior leaders Ajit Jogi and Gurudas Kamat, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday alleged that the grand-old party considers only a surname as their leader while giving no value to the rest despite their impeccable contributions.

Addressing the media here, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav said only one surname is considered a leader in the Congress Party and the rest have no value.

Advising the Congress not to sideline the contribution made by several party stalwarts, Madhav said this was perhaps the main reason for the grand old party’s dismal show in the recent assembly polls.

“The Congress should first believe that there are great leaders in their party. They believe only two or three people are there, who are great in the party,” Madhav said.

“This has been main the reason for the people rejecting them and that is why they are being defeated after every election,” he added.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat, however, downplayed the exit of Jogi and Kamat from the party, saying those weak from the mind and heart tend to run away during troubles, but added that the grand old party would bounce back yet again.

“The people, who are weak from the mind and heart, run away during troubles. It is the time of dilemma. If the Congress can come out of 1977 emergency, 1989 and also phase the troubles during the regime of Atal Bihari Vajpayee then it can definitely come out of trouble even now,” Rawat said.

The Congress has received a setback with two CWC members-Ajit Jogi and Gurudas Kamat- quitting the party. (ANI)
