Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy today said the Telangana She Teams are mirror to other States in ensuring safety and security of the women.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day today, the Home Minister launched Police Expo organized by the She Teams wing at People’s Plaza as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, the Home Minister said the State government would extend all possible help to the Police department to strengthen She Teams. Police departments from various States, including Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, had also introduced She Teams in their respective States after studying its success in Hyderabad, he said, adding that as many as 100 She Teams were working in the city.
Director General of Police M. Mahender Reddy said similar teams would be introduced in all districts within a year. He said the performance of the She Teams in Telangana was wonderful and they enhanced the prestige of the Telangana State government. He said the She Teams were standing behind the women for their safety. The State government has given top priority to the women’s safety in the State, he added. (NSS)
