Take note of Amit Shah’s remark on Sabarimala verdict: Mayawati to SC

General News: Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati on Sunday condemned Amit Shah’s statement on the Supreme Court verdict on the Sabarimala Temple and asked the apex court to take cognisance of the same.

On Saturday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Shah sharply criticised the Supreme Court’s verdict allowing entry of women of all ages inside the Sabarimala shrine and advised the state governments and courts to give only those orders, which can be followed.

Reacting to the same, Mayawati said, “BJP chief Amit Shah’s statement that ‘Supreme Court can’t give orders that can’t be followed’ (on Sabarimala issue) is condemnable. The Supreme Court must take cognisance of his statement.”

Yesterday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had also said that statements made by the BJP president on Sabarimala temple in Kannur are against the constitution and law of the land.
