Scale of Pay: ₹ 10,100 – 34,800 + Grade pay ₹ 5100/- pm
Age Limit (as on 01/07/2017): Minimum 18 Years and Maximum 30 Years for Un Reserved (General) Candidates. There is no age limit for SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BCO, BCM and Destitute Widows of all castes.
Educational Qualifications (as on 14/02/2018):
Assistant Engineer (Electrical) -> Engineering Graduate Degree in EEE/ ECE/ EIE/ CSE/ IT Engineering Discipline (OR) A pass in AMIE (Sections A and B) under Electrical Engineering Branch.
Assistant Engineer (Civil) -> Engineering Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering OR A pass in AMIE (Sections A and B) under Civil Engineering Branch.
Knowledge of Tamil: Candidates should possess adequate knowledge of Tamil on the date of this Notification.
Selection Process: Competitive Written Examination. The question paper for written examination will be of Objective type in OMR format of Engineering Degree Standard. For Electrical Engineering it will be in English and for Civil it will be in English as well as Tamil.
Exam Centres: Chennai, Erode, Coimbatore, Thiruchirapalli, Vellore, Madurai, Villupuram, Tirunelveli.
