Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ retains the top spot in Billboard 200

New York: American singer-song writer Taylor Swift’s new album ‘Reputation’ remained at Number One on the Billboard 200 in its second week, as it sold additional 256,000 total copies.

Swift is the first female artist since Adele in January 2016 to spend two consecutive weeks at Number One, Rolling Stone reports.

Reputation sold 1.2 million copies in its opening week making it 2017’s best-selling album and was declared ‘platinum’.

Only two new albums, both country music releases, entered the Top 10 this week- Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s first collaborative LP The Rest of Our Life at Number Two and Garth Brooks’ archival box set The Anthology: Part I, The First Five Years debuted at Number Four with 104,000 and 53,000 sales respectively.

Meanwhile, Sam Smith’s The Thrill of It All returned at Number Three with 58,000 sales. A Pentatonix Christmas at Number Five, Pink’s Beautiful Trauma at Number Six, Maroon 5’s Red Pill Blues at Number Seven, Lil Uzi Vert’s Luz Is Rage at Number Eight, Ed Sheeran’s Divide at Number Nine and Post Malone’s Stoney at Number 10, were all returnees in the chart.

If ‘Reputation’ continues to sell like this, it might hold onto Number One for a third straight week.

The Taylor Swift album was released on November 10. (ANI)
