TDP MPs continue to protest against Union Budget

New Delhi: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MPs on Friday protested near Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament expressing their disappointment with the Union Budget.

Speaking on the issue, TDP leader Shiv Pratap said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not kept his words in developing Amravati.

“Assurances are not fulfilled so far. Prime Minister Modi promised us that he will develop Amravati but he has not kept his words,” he said.

The protest saw TDP MPs holding banners saying ‘Save Andhra Pradesh’, ‘Save democracy’ among others.

On February 8, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) termed Union Budget 2018 as a disappointment for farmers.

Taking part in the Budget discussion in the Lok Sabha, TRS MP K. Kavitha said the Union Budget 2018 did not reflect the government’s intentions to double the income of farmers by 2022.

She also supported the protest by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and YSR Congress Party MPs and urged the government to address the issue.
