Rachakonda SHE-teams booked 28 cases against eve-teasers and apprehended 28 offenders, including 24 majors and six minors in the last two weeks.
All the eve-teasers attended the counseling session along with their family members held at the Commissioner’s Camp office at Nagole, LB Nagar. In a case of rape of a minor girl of Meerpet area, accused G. Suresh, 22, Madiga of Jaipuri Colony, Nagole frequently followed the girl and promised to marry her. When she finally gave a green signal, the accused had sex with the girl impregnated her. When requested him to tie the knot, the accused refused to marry her and threatened her of dire consequences. Realizing that she was cheated, the girl approached SHE Teams, who registered a case under Sections 376 (1), 366, 420, 312 IPC, Sec 3&4 of POCSO ACT 2012 at Meerpet PS. The accused was arrested and remanded.
Minor raped by her lecturer
In another case, a minor girl was raped by her college lecturer. Accused Jangu Thirupathi, 28, Physics lecturer in a Junior College at Hayathnagar, took the victim’s phone number and family details in guise of special care. Later, he started messaging her over phone. On one day, when the girl was waiting at bus stop to go to college, the accused came to her on his motorcycle and offered to drop her at college. On the way, the accused hugged and kissed her.
On December 6, 2017, the accused took her to Yadagirigutta and took a vow in the temple to marry her. Later, he took her to a room and raped her. The Hayathnagar police registered a case and remanded him to judicial custody.
Two youths remanded for rape & cheating
In an another case of rape, a 21-year-old girl studying B.Tech complained that Bhanuchander befriended her and promised to would marry. On some pretext, the accused reportedly took her to his friend’s room and forced her to have sex and also videographed the intercourse. Later, he blackmailed her and had intercourse several times. The accused and his friend one Prabandhan Reddy threatened her that they would share the sexual act in social media and Youtube and forced her to have intercourse five times with them.
According to the victim, both the accused came to her house on Jauary 21, 2018 evening and tried to kill her. When her parents tried to stop them, the accused beat her father and her brother and also snatched her cell phone. On her complaint, the police registered a case at Abdullapurmet PS and arrested the accused and remanded them to judicial custody.
Decoy operations by SHE teams
On January 31, 2017, the Malkajgiri SHE team while conducting a decoy operation at Narapally bus stop, they found one Bugga Siddartha, 19, proceeding on his motor bike along with his friends from Narapally towards Uppal side teased the girls at Narapally Bus stop and passed vulgar comments on them. The police booked the eve-teasers under Section 70(C) of CP Act in Medipally PS.
Similarly, when the LB Nagar SHE team was conducting decoy operation at Chaitanyapuri Bus stop on the evening of January 30, 2017, three minor boys passed lewd comments on girls and women The SHE Team brought the accused along with their parents for counseling as they juveniles.
The Kushaiguda SHE Team conducted a decoy operation on January 30, 2018 at ECIL crossroads in front of Orange super market and caught two miscreants P. Naveen, 18, Egurla Ramu, 18, for teasing the girls in front of super market. Hence a petty case was booked by the in Kushaiguda police.
Similarly, Ibrahimpatnam SHE Team conducted decoy operation at Ibrahimpatnam Bus Station on January 27, 2018 and caught Kethavath Kumar, 21, Kethavath Naveen, 22, and Nenavath Suresh, 21, for misbehaving with women and creating nuisance. Hence a petty case was registered by the Ibrahimpatnam PS against the trio.
