Teenager jumps from apartments terrace

Bengaluru: A disturbed teenager and class 11 student jumped to death from his apartment’s terrace in HSR layout when his parents were away.

The incident occurred on March 20 , where 16-year-old Saket Reddy, a student of an international school located on Whitefield-Sarjapur Main Road jumped off his apartment’s terrace around 9.45pm.

“Saket went to the terrace which is on the 12th floor of the building and leapt to his death,” police said while a security guard who heard the loud noise near the gymnasium rushed to the spot found the teenager in a pool of blood lying dead on the ground.

No suicide notes have been recovered so far nor the circumstances that drove Saket to this extreme step are yet known.

“According to family members, Saket was alone at home. His father Suresh Reddy, a businessman, had flown to Hyderabad, while his mother and younger brother had gone to a relative’s house,” police said.

“The family told us that Saket had not gone to school on that day. For some reason, he was disturbed and chose to remain indoors. Other residents from the apartment told us that he was an active boy and spent many hours at the gym,” police said.
