Telangana: 1062 GST Fraud cases booked so far

Hyderabad: As many as 1062 GST frauds cases have been booked so far the Legal Metrology Department of Telangana Government is now planning to intensify the raids furthermore.

Following several complaints filed so far related to GST fraud throughout in the city Commissioner for Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology Controller C.V. Anand has issued directions to the officials to intensify the raids and make special and detailed checks on all the complaints related to GST fraud in the state.

From small traders in localities to big multiplexes, shopping malls GST fraud complaints have been making its way to the Legal Metrology Department.

Several cases in Hyderabad have been booked against Central Mall, PVR Cinemas, KFC, Mc Donald, Prasad Imax, Subway Food Court, Srujana Mall in Kukatpally, Blue Fox Restaurant, Shanbagh, Golconda Hotel, Park Hotel.

Over the past one week, around 5,000 raids were conducted throughout the city along with detailed checks in malls, multiplexes, star hotels, restaurants, bars, sweet houses and other business points which revealed the fraudsters are cheating the public charging them with higher amounts including the GST amount on non-GST items.

So far the department has laid around Rs. 10.62 lakhs penalty in these raids.
