Telangana: 194 Junior Colleges issued notices

Hyderabad: Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education has declared affiliation to junior intermediate colleges will only be given in March 2018 if the college authorities comply with the Board’s directions said Education Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari on Friday.

During the Question Hour in the Legislative Council, he said that the Board has recently issued notices to 194 junior colleges.

The college authorities have been given clear directions to follow the Board’s academic schedule which maintains college timings as well as holidays.

“We have asked the management to employ professional counselors for students on a regular basis. Free time should be given to students in their daily schedule,” he said.

He added criminal proceedings shall be taken up against the college authorities if a student commits suicide. He said the management should regularly organize interaction between parents, teachers and students to keep up with the students progress.
