Hyderabad: A 42-year old paramour who allegedly raped a minor girl two days ago was arrested by Meerpet Police on Monday.
The accused arrested is believed to be the victim’s step-father, after the victim’s father deserted her mother about a decade ago over family disputes according to police reports.
Ever since then, the victim’s mother later started living in a live-in-a relationship with the accused.
The victim’s mother who is a labourer went out for working on Saturday afternoon and returned around 8 pm. Her daughter on returning complained of stomach ache and the mother only learnt about the incident when she narrated her ordeal
The victim also told her mother that the accused threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed the matter to anyone. However, the victim’s mother approached the police and lodged a complaint.
The absconding accused was arrested at R N Reddy Nagar X Road and a case under section Section 376(2), 342, 506 IPC, and Section 5(m) (n) read with 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) was filed by the Meerpet police.
