Hyderabad: Re-elected for the second term, KCR ruling government has decided to create two more districts in Telangana State making it to a total of 33 districts against 31 present districts.
Earlier, TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao had promised voters in Mulug and Narayanpet (assembly constituencies) to grant them new districts during his campaign for the recently concluded state assembly elections, TOI reports.
In just less than a week after returning back to power, CM KCR has made his priorities clear to the officials while directing them of taking immediate actions into the promises he has made to the state people.
Recalling his electoral promises, CM has directed the officials to start the process of forming new districts and respective mandals and extend Aasara pensions to people who are over the age of 57 along with the distribution of Bathukamma saris, Shaadi Mubarak and Kalyan Laxmi cheques through MLAs.
Principal secretary (revenue) Rajeshwar Tiwari has been directed to commence the process of forming the two new districts— Mulugu and Narayanpet.
The Principal secretary was also directed to start the process of formation of Korutla as a new revenue division and Choutuppal mandal in Nalgonda district and Mallampally mandal in Bhupalapally district.
The CM also said Gundala mandal in Jangoan district should be merged into Yadadri-Bhuvangiri district.
The Chief Secretary SK Joshi has been instructed to commence the process of identifying eligible people for availing the old-age pension.
Once the Chief Secretary provides the government with the details of beneficiaries, adequate budgetary provision would be made in the 2019-20 budget.
Pensions should be given with effective from April 1, 2019, said the sources.
