Telangana: Polling Today from 7 am to 5 pm

Hyderabad: Elaborate arrangements have been made for fair polls in 17 Lok Sabha segments in Telangana, CEO Rajat Kumar today said. Talking to press persons, he said that polling agents have to reach the polling stations by 5.30 am. People with voter slips can carry any one of the 11 identity cards to cast votes in the polling booths. He appealed to the people to check their names in the electoral rolls before coming to vote. The CEO said that all people have received the voter identity cards and can cast vote without it by using any other card.

Focus is on Nizamabad and naxalites effected areas with facilities and additional forces, Rajat Kumar said. The polling will begin at 7 am to 5 pm in all segments and from 8 am to 6 pm in Nizamabad. The EC has deployed 145 companies of forces for security in addition to 55000 police personnel of the state. We have set up 12 EVMs in each polling station in Nizamabad segment he said. The polling will be held in 13 segments of naxalites effected areas from 7 am to 4 pm. He said that the EC has served notice to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his alleged remarks on Hindus followed by a complaint from VHP leaders in Telangana. There are 443 candidates in poll fray and 2,96, 97, 279 electors will cast votes on April 11.
